Studies Of The Niagara Falls

The Niagara Falls are the famous waterfalls between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie. As in the case of all waterfalls, there is erosion of the rocky ledge of the waterfall.

According to Holt Earth Science 1994, p 178, "the whirlpool action at the base of the Falls erodes the weak shale rock at the base of the Falls. This erosion undermines the tough Dolostone layer at the top of the Falls, and from time to time the Dolostone breaks off, and the waterfall recedes". 

In the photograph, published by the Niagara Falls Museum Guide, the Crest Lines show the recession of the Horseshoe Falls since 1764. According to the Niagara Falls Museum Guide, the rate of recession has been 865 feet in 185 years, or approximately 4.7 feet per year.

According to Holt Earth Science, 1984, p.384, "the Niagara Falls was formed by weak rocks that rapidly wore back, forming a long gorge. Geologists have found that the falls move back at an average rate of 4 feet per year. A gorge about seven and a half miles long runs just below the Niagara falls. A simple calculation shows that it has been about 9,900 years since the Niagara River stated cutting its gorge back from Lake Ontario".



- The Niagara River runs North from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario.

- The Niagara Falls are slowly being eroded, so that the recession of the Niagara Falls causes the waterfalls to slowly move South towards Lake Eyrie.

- The Niagara Falls used to be further North, but has eroded 7.5 miles towards Lake Eyrie since 1764.

Why do the Niagara Falls exist at all?

- We would like to Evolutionists to explain to Creationists why, if the Niagara Falls are billions of years old, and the rate of recession is 4.7 feet per year, why the Niagara Falls exist at all.

- At the known rate of recession, the Niagara Falls should have eroded all the way back to Lake Eyrie billions of years ago.

According to the Bible:

- God created the Heavens and the Earth 6,000 years ago approximately.

- 4,400 years ago there was a world wide Flood.

- As the crust of the Earth was broken up, and water ran off the land, the geography was dramatically altered.

At this point we have to do some reasoning, based on observations and known facts.

- According to Biblical teaching, we would therefore expect the oldest waterfalls in the world to have an age of approximately 4,400 years, including the Niagara Falls.

- 4,400 years ago there was a Flood, and as the Flood water ran off about half of the flood water from Lake Eyrie washed out almost immediately.

- The Niagara Falls have been eroding the rocky ledge for the last 4,400 years only.

- The existence of the Niagara Falls tends to confirm the Biblical Creation account.

The Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

Parts of the Great Barrier Reef in Australia were destroyed in World War II by ships anchors and explosives. Following this, environmentalists in Australia devised an experiment to observe the rate of re-growth of the coral of the Great Barrier Reef. After carefully observing the re-growth of the Reef over 20 years, they calculated that the estimated age of the Great Barrier Reef, based on their calculations, is 4,200 years old (Quoted from Creation Ex Nihilo Vol. 8 No. 1, p.).

- If the Earth is billions of years old, why is there not an older Reef on the Earth?

- Why is the oldest corral reef on Earth only 4,200 years old?

According to the Bible:

- God created the Heavens and the Earth 6,000 years ago approximately.

- 4,400 years ago there was a world wide Flood.

- As the crust of the Earth was broken up, and water ran off the land, the geography was dramatically altered.

- Quite soon the continents stabilised, and then reefs started to grow again.

- According to Biblical teaching, we would therefore expect the oldest reef in the world to have an age of approximately 4,400 years.

- The 4,400 year old age of the Great Barrier Reef tends to confirm the Biblical account.

The Pressure Of Oil In Oil Wells.

Under the crust of the Earth, oil is found deposited in oil wells. This oil is under considerable pressure. The pressure in oil wells is measured in pounds per square inch or psi.

The pressure of oil in oil wells is 20,000 pounds per square inch (psi). This explains why, when oil prospectors drill down into the Earth's crust for the oil, the oil is forcibly ejected from the oil well, because of the tremendous pressure.

Oil formed from organisms that once lived in the sea

- According to Holt General Science, 1988, p.294, "Oil and gas are made from "organisms that once lived in the sea. …changed by heat and pressure"… into oil". .

- According to The Journal of Petroleum Geology Leigh Price 1983 p.32 oil can form in 1000-10,000 years!

Oil can be created artificially

- According to Creation Ex Nihilo, Vol 12 No. 2, p. 30, in "How fast can oil form?", scientist can now convert vegetable matter, using heat and pressure, into oil in a couple of minutes inside a laboratory.

- According to Hadden R. Appell, US Dept. of Interior, Bureau of Mines, in "Converting Organic Wastes to Oil," oil can be manufactured in 20 minutes.

- According to Mike Riddle in "Creation/Evolution: Does it Matter what we Believe?" By, ICR, p. 28, "In 1996 a $22.4 million proposal was approved in Western Australia that will build a plant to create oil from sewage sludge in 30 minutes".

Geologists say the crust of the Earth could not have contained an oil pressure of 20,000 psi for more than 10,000 years

According to Creation Ex Nihilo Vol 12 No. 2, p.30 in "How fast can oil form?" geologists say that there is a limit to how long the rocks of the Earth's crust could contain a pressure of 20,000 psi. According to these geologists the rocks could not have contained that kind of oil pressure for more than 10,000 years, without breaking up.

- If the Earth is billions of years old, why is oil present in oil wells, if it cannot be contained for more than 10,000 years?

- How did the oil get there?

- How was the oil created?

According to the Bible.

- God created the Heavens and the Earth 6,000 years ago approximately.

- 4,400 years ago there was a world wide Flood.

- As the crust of the Earth was broken up, and water ran off the land, the geography was dramatically altered.

At this point we have to do some reasoning, based on observations and known facts:

- About 4,400 years ago, according to the Bible, there was a Flood.

- In that Flood organic material in the form of fish, animals and people drowned.

- This organic material was greatly compressed by millions of tons of rocks, sand, gravel and mud, which compressed the dead carcasses, producing oil.

- Many Creationists believe that coal was similarly formed by the compression of vegetable matter at the time of Noah's flood.

The existence of oil in oil wells proves a young universe

Since, according to geologists, oil cannot be contained within the crust of the Earth for more than 10,000 years, the existence of oil in oil wells indicates that the Universe cannot be billions of years old, but less than 10,000 years old.

Population Studies Indicate A Young Planet Earth.

According to the Star Tribune Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, July 24, 1999, "Last weekend the world's population topped 6 billion". 

In 1985 there were 5 billion people in the world.

In the year 1800 there were only 1 billion people in the whole world.

In the year 3 BC a Roman Census at the time of the Birth of Jesus Christ indicated that the population of the world was 250 million.

All text books teach that, and the world's population is growing rapidly.

The Bible teaches that: 

- 6,000 years ago God created the Universe.

- 4,400 years ago there was a Flood which destroyed everyone except for 8 people.

If you start with 8 people 4,400 years ago, after Noah's Flood, a population of 6 Billion people over 4,400 years is perfectly reasonable.

- Evolutionists believe that the Earth is billions of years old, and that Human Life evolved millions of years ago.

- If Human Life started 3 million years ago, we would now have a world population of 150,000 people per square inch, and that is incredibly crowded!

- The population growth curve clearly demonstrates that Human Life did not start 3 million years ago.

Comets Are Still Observed In Space.

Comets Are Still Observed In Space

Comets are occasionally observable in Space using the unaided human eye. There are a large number of comets travelling through Space. Comets become observable to the human eye only when they are comparatively close to the Earth.

They are technically referred to as "short period comets". As comets travel through space, they intermittently loose parts of their material, as the combined effects of the solar wind and the Sun burns pieces of material off them. Comets continue to loose material. The pieces of material are burned up as they leave the comets, explaining the big long bright tail behind them. Comets have a total life expectancy of less than 10,000 years, because they burn out.

Evolutionist need to explain to Creationists why, if the Universe is millions of years old, comets still observed in Space at all, in view of their short life of only 10,000 years. There is no indication at all that new comets are being created.

A similar argument can be applied to asteroids and space dust. The existence of comets, asteroids, and space dust indicates a young Universe, less than 10,000 years old.

The Space Dust On The Surface Of The Moon.

If you were to look at a glass window of a Space rocket that has travelled into space, you would notice that it will be very scratched. This is because there is a lot of dust in Space which scratches the Space rocket window.

The dust on the Moon

As the Moon is spinning around the Earth it is gathering dust on it, as it travels through Space collecting Space dust.

Evolutionists believe that the Moon, like the Earth, is millions of years old. It was therefore predicted in 1955 that the Moon will have Space dust on it several miles deep.

- Lyttleton felt that X-rays and UV light striking exposed moon rocks "could during the age of the moon be sufficient to form a layer over it several miles deep."(Quote from Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society of London Vol. 115, 1955, pp. 585-604)

- Isaac Asimov wrote, "I get a picture, therefore, of the first spaceship, picking out a nice level place for landing purposes, coming in slowly downward tail-first and sinking majestically out of sight."(Quoted from: Isaac Asimov (1959), Science Digest, Jan., 1959 p. 36).

- Even children's books wrote about the excessive dust on the moon. Here is an example from a children's book written in 1959, "There is just deep, gray dust. Dust, dust, dust." (Quoted from "You Will go to the Moon" by Mae and Ira Freeman, Random House, USA).


Ladder designed 18 inches too short 

When NASA designed the spacecraft for the 1969 mission to the Moon, the engineers specially adapted the Lunar Space Module to land on the Moon, with the anticipated deep covering of dust.

Ladder designed 18 inches too short NASA provided the following adaptations to the Lunar Space Module and the astronaut's equipment:

- Huge horizontal landing pads, so that the Lunar Space Module would not sink into the dust. This is the same principle as snow shoes used on deep soft snow.

- The ladder on the Lunar Space Module, designed for the astronauts to descend onto the surface of the Moon from the Lunar Space Module, was purposely designed 18 inches too short, in anticipation of a deep dust layer.

- The backpack that the astronauts carried on their backs was designed dustproof, in case the astronauts sank into the deep Space dust on the surface of the Moon.

When the spacecraft landed on the Moon, it was in fact found that the dust on the Moon was only about ½ inch deep. This suggested that the Moon was not billions of years old, but only a young Moon, exactly as the Bible indicates.

- Ranger and Surveyor space programs were sent to the Moon to assess the "dust problem."

- It has been demonstrated that Space Dust actually gathers at the rate of 2.7 inches per million years.

- When it was discovered that the Moon was covered with only ½ inch of Space Dust, this simply implies that the Moon is only a few thousand years old, exactly as the Bible indicates.

Unexplained Observations About The Planets Saturn And Jupiter.

Saturn's rings are unstable and cannot be billions of years old.

The planet Saturn has rings around it, but these rings are unstable. They are moving away from the planet, and Saturn is loosing its rings. At the current rate of movement of Saturn's rings, they could have been there for only a few thousand years. If the Universe was billions of years old, Saturn's rings would have disappeared into space billions of years ago. This is explained in the following books:

Jupiter's moon Ganymede has a strong magnetic field. 

Jupiter's moon Ganymede is still hot. A small moon should not be hot after billions of years, any more than our own moon. This certainly does not support the theory of an old universe.

The Law Of Conservation Of Angular Momentum.

The Law of Conversation of Angular Momentum causes very serious problems for the Big Bang Theory. One way to understand the Law of Conversation of Angular Momentum is to illustrate this law of Physics with a practical example.

A roundabout in a children's play area

Let us imagine that we have some children playing on a roundabout in a children's play area.

- Phase 1: We ask three out of the children to sit on the roundabout and hold tight, and the remaining two children to spin the roundabout.

- Phase 2: The roundabout is now travelling at 30 mph, and the children pushing the roundabout are beginning to perspire.

- Phase 3: When the roundabout is spinning quite fast at 60 mph, the children on the roundabout are beginning to become frightened. They cry out, "Stop! Stop! Please slow down!"

- Phase 4: When the roundabout begins to spin much faster at 100mph, such is the gravitational forces on the children sitting on the roundabout that they all fly off the roundabout.

- Phase 5; Because of the Law of Conservation of Linear Momentum the children will all fly off the roundabout moving in the same direction as the roundabout. If the roundabout was rotating clockwise, the children will also be rotating clockwise.

The Law of Conservation of Linear Momentum can now be applied to the Big Bang Theory

- In the case of the Big Bang Theory the "singularity" was supposed to have spun very fast, and then exploded in a frictionless environment, which the Universe must have been if all the matter was concentrated at one point.

- According to the Law of Conservation of Linear Momentum, all the planets should spin in the same direction.

- We know from observation of the planets in our Solar System that the planets Venus, Uranus and possibly Pluto spin in the opposite direction to the other six planets.

- In addition to that, there are 63 known moons of the planets. Of these moons, six spin in the opposite direction to the remaining 57.

- In our Solar System, three of the planets, Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune, have moons orbiting in both directions.

- The above facts are quoted from "Astronomical Almanac for the year 1989" (Wash. DC U.S. Government Printing Office, 1989) p. E88.

- From the Law of Conservation of Linear Momentum we can see that if our Solar System evolved spontaneously by a Big Bang, all the moons should orbit their planets in the same direction.

- The only exception to this would be if they encountered a large mass, such as another planet.

- However, this event should certainly have left a crater, which it would have been observed by astronomers.

- Observations of our Solar System do NOT support the big Bang Theory.

Difference of angular momentum of the Sun and the planets 

The Sun actually spins very much more slowly than the planets. This certainly does not support the Big Bang Theory, as explained in the following quotation:

"This (Angular Momentum) would have caused the Sun to spin very rapidly. Actually, our Sun spins very slowly, while the planets move very rapidly around the Sun. In fact, although the Sun has over 99% of the mass of the solar system, it has only 2% of the angular momentum. This pattern is directly opposite to the pattern predicted for the nebular hypothesis." Quoted from Dr. H. Reeves "The Origin of the Solar System", in "The Origin of the Solar System", Dermott, S.F. Ed. John Wiley & Sons, New York p. 9, 1978.

Evolutionist cannot explain the angular momentum of the Solar System:

Conservation of Angular Momentum

The Milky Way is "lumpy" 
If the Big Bang Theory were true, the planets would all spin in the same direction, and the matter would be evenly distributed through the Solar System. Instead it is "lumpy". Throughout the Milky Way there are clusters of stars, then great areas of empty space. This subject is discussed in detail in "Creation Ex Nihilo Dec. 99, p. 8".

Further Discussion Of The Big Bang Theory

There are only two generally accepted world views:

1. The Biblical world view: The Bible states that God created the Universe in Genesis 1:1, "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth."

2. The Humanists world view: In the Humanist Manifesto 1, of 1933, Tenant stated that, "Humanists regard the Universe as self existing and not created."

The Origin of the Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang idea began with a Belgian astronomer, Georges Edward LeMaitre (1894-1966).
According to Isaac Asimov, LeMaitre conceived this mass to be "no more than a few light-years in diameter" in 1955.

Definition of Mass: According to the Concise Oxford Dictionary, "Mass is a coherent body of matter with no definite shape". 

Bolton Davidheiser has stated the following:

- In 1955 according to Isaac Asimov, LeMaitre originally conceived the diameter of the mass to be a minimum of two light-years, or about twelve trillion miles.

- By 1965 that figure was reduced to 275 million miles.

- By 1974 to 54 thousand miles.

- By 1983 to "a trillionth the diameter of a proton,"

- Now the mass is considered to be infinitesimally small. It is known as a "singularity"!

By observing these points above we note that Evolutionists beliefs concerning the Origins of the Universe are hardly consistent over a mere 60 years! The supposed Origins of the Universe have changed from a mass twelve trillion miles in diameter, to a mass infinitesimally small!

We do not personally believe that such massive variations in the Big Bang Theory provides the Big Bang theory with any credibility at all!

We would also like to point out that these massive variations of this core belief occurred over a mere sixty years, at the time of the origin of this new belief system!

According to Evolutionists the whole Universe evolved from nothing

"The observable Universe could have evolved from an infinitesimal region. It is then tempting to go one step further and speculate that the entire Universe evolved from literally nothing," Quoted from Alan Guth & P. Steinhardt, Scientific American, May 1984 p.12.

We would like to highlight the speculation involved in the Big Bang Theory in the above quotation!

According to all scientists, the Universe is expanding. According to proponents of the Big Bang Theory this means that the Universe must have once been much smaller, and that the expanding mass of the Universe, including Space and Time, can therefore extrapolated back to nothing, a "singularity".

According to Evolutionists, the Universe began as a gigantic explosion from the singularity. The singularity is now considered to be mass infinitesimally small. The singularity span faster and faster, and eventually exploded. During the explosion, pieces flew off, and became suns, stars, planets, comets and asteroids.

We would like to point out that the Big Bang Theory is a theory, according to its name! It has always referred to as the Big Bang Theory, never as the Big Bang Fact! No Evolutionist was present at this supposed event, which is now taught as fact in most schools and universities.

Both Creation and Evolution are belief systems, otherwise known as religions!

- Both the Biblical Creation world views and the Evolutionary world view are both belief systems which ultimately have to be accepted by faith in the most likely event.

- However, there is not a level playing field, because News media and textbooks always try to present Evolution as a modern science, and Creation as an outdated old fashioned religion.

- The unspoken message is that Evolution is part of science, and that Creation is not scientific.

- Nothing could be further from the truth, as we hope to demonstrate.
In fact, both Evolution and Creation are both belief systems, which broadly come under the heading of religions!

- The question is not which is scientific, because neither Creation nor Evolution can be replicated in a laboratory.

- The question is actually which belief system, Creation or Evolution, is correct.

The Second Law of Thermodynamics states that everything tends toward disorder, however, the "Big Bang" theory claims that an explosion created everything.

- Evolutionists believe that the entire solar system was formed from clouds of gas and dust, which derived ultimately from nothing.

- his belief is opposed to the First Law of Thermodynamics.

- Evolutionists believe that if energy is added it will increase order, and reverse Entropy.

- This is opposed to the Second Law of Thermodynamics.

- If the Big Bang Theory actually happened, as taught by Evolutionists, then the Sun, planets, comets, and the Moon should be made of similar elements.

- In fact, we know that the Sun is 98% Hydrogen or Helium.

- In fact, we know that the Earth, the Moon, Venus, and Mercury all contain less than 1% Hydrogen or Helium.

- The Law of Conversation of Angular Momentum, discussed below, causes very major problems for the credibility of the Big Bang Theory.

- Observations of our Solar System do NOT support the big Bang Theory.

Does It Matter Whether This Universe Was Created By God, Or Evolved Spontaneously?

We believe that Christians should teach only Creation, because:

1. The Bible is at stake, since the Bible supports only Creation.

2. The credibility of Jesus Christ is at stake, since He is stated to be the Creator.

3. The Book of Genesis in particular is at stake, since Jesus quoted Genesis 25 times.

Evolution is not a benign belief that can comfortably co-exist with Creation

1. Either the Bible is rubbish, so we should discard both the Bible, and Jesus Christ.

2. Or Evolution is rubbish, and we should discard Evolution, and stop teaching it as fact.

3. There is no middle ground. God could not possibly have used Evolution, as will be discussed below.

4. It says in Luke 3:38 that Adam was the son of God, not the son of a monkey!

The Facts About Creation And Evolution

1. Nobody was present at the Biblical Creation 6,000 years ago.

2. Nobody was present at the supposed "Big Bang", whether it was 20 billion or 12 billion years ago.

3. The two belief systems are about as far apart as it is possible to be, a difference of 3.3 million times in time scale alone, and a massive difference in probabilities.

4. If you asked the average child (or non-prejudiced adult) which of the two models, Creation or Evolution, was the more likely, there would be no contest at all

5. The Theory of Evolution is outrageous to virtually everybody in Africa, India, Pakistan, South East Asia and South America, irrespective of their religious or cultural background.

6. Two thirds of the world's population believe that this planet was created.

7. There is a wide variation of opinion amongst those 4 billion people about how and when the world was created, but the cultures of approximately 4 billion people still believe in Creation.

8. University professors and teachers of Western "civilised" society believe they know better than everybody else, and are frantically trying to convert everybody else to their new belief system called Evolution, all caused by a "god" called "chance".

9. In our Western First World society Creation is widely ridiculed.

10. In the rest of the world, predominantly Second and Third World societies, Evolution is regarded as absurd.

11. Evolutionists love to talk about "Primitive Life Forms," which do not exist in the real world. If life is so "simple" and "primitive", these clever people should have no problem at all creating a "simple life form" in a laboratory. So far, they have not.

12. In the real world, all life is incredibly complex, as many scientists quoted in our teaching below have acknowledged.

13. Most people in Western cultures have been taught to accept unquestioningly certain principles, one of which is the Theory of Evolution.

14. The Theory of Evolution is a theory, not a fact.

15. The idea that life evolved by "Spontaneous Generation" out of nothing is a belief, and is contrary to the Law of Biogenesis.

16. No unambiguous information, acceptable in a science laboratory or a court of law, confirms the Creation of Life by means of any Evolutionary process.

18. Scientists have no clear data supporting the idea that life evolved over millions of years.

21. Biblical accounts of the Origins of Space, Matter, Time, Energy, and Life are considered to be "outside the realms of science."

22. In fact the Bible is a very scientific book, as demonstrated in our teaching The Bible is Supernatural on this web site.

23. Unfortunately neither the Biblical Creation Model nor the Evolution Model can be subjected to the normal scientific experimental processes. They are both belief systems.

24. In order to have a serious discussion about either Creation or Evolution, an unprejudiced person will have to abandon concepts that Science has "proved Evolution."

25. Science cannot prove or disprove Creation or Evolution.

26. Instead we all have to make observations about our Solar system and our Planet Earth, and come to conclusions based on our observations. This does not involve the use of the normal scientific method.

27. To study both Creation and Evolution we have to use a different method, but this is the only method that is available to us. We can make observations and conclusions, but we cannot test these theories.

28. We believe that the process of actual scientific observation and conclusion very strongly supports Creation, as we intend to demonstrate.

The Biblical Creation World View

The Bible, on the other hand, teaches that the whole Universe, the Sun, the planets, the stars, and the Solar Systems, were all created by Jesus Christ.

The Bible opens with these majestic words: "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth," Genesis 1:1.

The Bible teaches that Planet Earth, the Moon, the land, the seas, the vegetation, all life, the animals, the birds, the fishes, and mankind were all:

1. Created by Jesus Christ.
2. Created only 6,000 years ago, approximately.

In the King James Version of the Bible, the word "Creation" appears 6 times. The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus Christ created everything. The Bible speaks unequivocally about Creation, and that Jesus Christ Himself is the Creator. Here are a few selected passages:

John 1:1-4: "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men."

Colossians 1:15-17: "He (Jesus Christ) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all Creation. For by Him all things were created that are in Heaven and that are on Earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist."

The Universe

The word "Universe" literally means, "One spoken word". The Bible clearly teaches throughout Genesis that God spoke, and it was so.

The Genesis Account Of Creation - The Fourth Day.

Genesis 1:14-19, "Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the fourth day."

- On the Fourth Day, God made the Sun, the Moon, and the stars.

- We should just stop and pause for a moment to reflect.

- It has been estimated that there are enough stars for every person on Earth to own 2 trillion of them each! (Astronomy and the Bible, Donald DeYoung p. 57)

- It would perhaps be a good idea for everyone to go out of doors at night and look at the stars!

- This would perhaps give each one of us a glimpse of understanding of the greatness of God.

The Genesis Account Of Creation - The Third Day.

Genesis 1: 11-13, "Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself, according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the third day." 

On the Third Day, God made all the vegetation, with all the trees, plants, grasses, flowers, pollen and seeds. And it was all very good!

- Note that seeds cause specific plants to grow.

- There are kinds of plants, in the same way there are kinds of animals.

- Poppies can certainly cross pollinate other poppies, but they cannot cross pollinate an oak tree.

- If you plant a poppy seed, you expect to see poppies growing, not cucumbers.

The Genesis Account Of Creation - The Second Day.

Genesis 1:6-8, "Then God said, "Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." Thus God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day."

The Firmament (now known as the sky)

The "firmament" is not a word which we now use, so we need to look carefully to see what God is talking about. Fortunately in Genesis 1:20 it becomes perfectly clear: "Let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens."

So the "firmament" is the sky, where the birds fly. In other words, the sky appeared between the water above the sky, and the water below the sky. After the appearance of the firmament there were three separate layers:

- Region 1: Water in the stratosphere.

- Region 2: The sky, where the birds fly.

- Region 3: Water below the sky, now known as the sea

- There was therefore, at the original Creation, a water canopy in the stratosphere, above the sky (the firmament).

After Noah's Flood this water canopy in the stratosphere was removed, and the water became part of the waters of the Flood of Noah, approximately 4,400 years ago. The water canopy in the stratosphere is therefore no longer present. The water canopy originally provided protection against cosmic radiation from outer space.

The formation of the dry land

Genesis 1:9-10, "Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good."

So then there were four distinct geographical strata:

1. Water in the Stratosphere (not present now)

2. Sky, where the birds still fly

3. Water below the sky, now known as the sea

4. Dry land, which appeared in the sea and it still present

The dry land therefore appeared, initially suspended over water. As a direct consequence of the water canopy in the stratosphere, and the land suspended over the water, there would have been many distinct benefits to Planet Earth.

- The whole planet would have been of uniform temperature, with little variation of temperature between the four seasons.

- The whole planet was shielded from the dangerous X-rays, Gamma rays, and Ultra Violet radiation from outer space.

- Radiation can cause damage to our DNA, and is one of the causes of cancer.

- Because there was no rain before the Flood, there would have been no clouds.

- There would have been much more sunshine, with crystal clear, bright blue skies every day of the year.

- In addition, the partial pressure of oxygen and carbon dioxide would have been higher, because of the increased atmospheric pressure caused by the water canopy.

- We will discuss this in detail later in this teaching.

Oxygen content of the atmosphere before the Flood was much higher



- According to Time Magazine the oxygen content in Amber is 50% higher than it is now, (see Time Magazine, Nov 9, 1987, p. 82).

- Amber is a semi-precious stone, commonly used in ladies jewelry.

- Amber is actually fossilized tree sap, and frequently contains either insects, or bubbles of air.

- According to Time Magazine November 9, 1987, p. 82, bubbles of air in amber have an oxygen content that is 50% higher than we now experience.

- According to this article in Time Magazine, Geochemists Gary Landis of the US Geological Survey and Robert Berner of Yale analyzed tiny air bubbles trapped in pieces of amber.

- They placed the amber inside a vacuum chamber, and then opened the amber, allowing the ancient trapped gases to escape.

- They found that the air contained 32% oxygen, which is much higher than out current 21% oxygen in the atmosphere.

- This is startling news, and explains, perhaps, the large humans, animals and insects found in the fossil record.

- To confirm this, according to The New Scientist Magazine published on March 11, 2000 the air trapped in Amber has 35% oxygen.

Other Contortions To Accommodate Genesis Chapter 1 With The Theory Of Evolution

There are innumerable contortions made by sincere Christians to accommodate Genesis 1 with the theory of Evolution

- None of these contortions work

- Christians should stop trying to marry the Bible up with the Theory of Evolution.

- The two are totally incompatible!

- God purposely made Genesis chapter 1 an easy chapter to understand.

- The majority of children understand it perfectly.

- It is only University Professors who seem to have a problem understanding it!

The 'One Day Is As A Thousand Years' Theory.

Some Bible teachers believe that each of the days of Creation was 1,000 years long, presumably to fit in with the modern theory of Evolution.

They use the following text as justification for their theory: "But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day," 2 Peter 3:8

This theory still has several problems:

- According to this theory, the Universe is thus 6,000 years from day 1 to day 6 (the Creation of Adam), and 6,000 years from day 6 to the present (using the above calculations).

- Adam and Eve were therefore not created at the beginning of the Creation, as stated by Jesus Christ. They were created at the middle of the Creation!

- They are still nearly 20 billion miles adrift from most Evolutionists!
Also, God created the vegetation on Day 3, and the Sun on Day 4.

- How do followers of this theory suppose that the vegetation survived for 1,000 years with no sunlight?

The 'Gap Theory'

- Some serious Bible teachers have taught that there is a "gap" of billions of years between the first and the second days of Creation.

- This is clearly incorrect.

- If there was a "gap" of "billions of years" between the First and the Second days of Creation, then Adam and Eve would have been created at the end of the Creation, not at the beginning, since only 6,000 years have elapsed since the Creation of Adam and Eve.

- Jesus Christ clearly stated that Adam and Eve were created at the beginning of Creation, in Mark 10:6, "From the Beginning of the Creation, God made them male and female".

- Jesus also said in Matthew 19:4, "Have you not read that He who made them at the Beginning made them male and female".

The Bible Is In Direct Conflict With Evolution.

The Gospel of Luke records the genealogy of Jesus Christ. There are 77 generations from God to Jesus Christ.

- The first three generations reads as follows, according to Luke 3:38: "the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God." 

- The New Testament clearly states that Adam was the son of God, not the son of a monkey!

- Evolution is therefore in direct conflict with Christianity!

- Either Adam evolved from an ape, or Adam was the son of God!

- There is absolutely no middle ground!

- Either the Bible is rubbish, or Evolution is rubbish!

- We should throw away either the Bible, or Evolution.

- They are totally incompatible.

The Theory Of Evolution.

The Theory of Evolution is discussed in great detail on this web site, in our teaching Evolution Is Impossible 

We believe that Evolution is a belief system, not a science.

1. Nobody was present at the Biblical Creation 6,000 years ago.

2. Nobody was present at the supposed "Big Bang", whether it was 20 billion or 12 billion years ago.

3. The two belief systems are about as far apart as it is possible to be, a difference of 3.3 million times in time scale alone, and a massive difference in probabilities.

4. If you asked the average child (or non-prejudiced adult) which of the two models, Creation or Evolution, was the more likely, there would be no contest at all!

5. The Theory of Evolution is outrageous to virtually everybody in Africa, India, Pakistan, South East Asia and South America, irrespective of their religious or cultural background.

6. Two thirds of the world's population believe that this planet was created.

7. There is a wide variation of opinion amongst those 4 billion people about how and when the world was created, but the cultures of approximately 4 billion people still believe in Creation.

8. University professors and teachers of Western "civilised" society believe they know better than everybody else, and are frantically trying to convert everybody else to their new religion called Evolution, all caused by a "god" called "chance".

9. In our Western First World society Creation is widely ridiculed.

10. In the rest of the world, predominantly Second and Third World societies, Evolution is regarded as absurd.

11. Evolutionists love to talk about "primitive life forms," which do not exist in the real world. If life is so "simple" and "primitive", these clever people should have no problem at all creating a "simple life form" in a laboratory. So far, they have not!

12. In the real world, all life is incredibly complex, as many scientists quoted in our teaching on Evolution Is Impossible have acknowledged.

13. Most people in Western cultures have been taught to accept unquestioningly certain principles, one of which is the Theory of Evolution.

14. The Theory of Evolution is a theory, not a fact.

15. The idea that life evolved by "Spontaneous Generation" out of nothing is a belief, and is contrary to the Law of Biogenesis.

16. No unambiguous information, acceptable in a science laboratory or a court of law, confirms the Creation of Life by means of any Evolutionary process.

18. Scientists have no clear data supporting the idea that life evolved over millions of years.

19. There is no known way to test experimentally the idea that the Origin of the Universe resulted from a ""Big Bang", or that life arose by "Spontaneous Generation."

20. Most of modern science, as taught in our Western schools and universities, is atheist when considering the Origins of Life.

21. Biblical accounts of the Origins of space, matter, time, energy, and life are considered to be "outside the realms of science." In fact the Bible is a very scientific book, as demonstrated in our teaching The Bible is Supernatural on this web site.

22. Unfortunately neither the Biblical Creation Model nor the Evolution Model can be subjected to the normal scientific experimental processes. They are both belief systems.

23. In order to have a serious discussion about either Creation or Evolution, an unprejudiced person will have to abandon concepts that Science has "proved Evolution."

24. Science cannot prove or disprove Creation or Evolution.

25. Instead we all have to make observations about our Solar system and our Planet Earth, and come to conclusions based on our observations. This does not involve the use of the normal scientific method.

26. To study both Creation and Evolution we have to use a different method, but this is the only method that is available to us. We can make observations and conclusions, but we cannot test these theories.

27. We believe that the process of actual scientific observation and conclusion very strongly supports Creation, as we intend to demonstrate.
