The Creation of the Heavens and Earth
The Bible begins with the majestic words: "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth", Genesis 1:1. The Hebrew word for "God" used here is "Elohiym." The word is plural, and literally means "Gods." Therefore Gods (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) created the Heavens and the Earth.
The Creation of Man
Genesis 1:26-27: "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them".
The Hebrew word for "God" used here is "Elohiym". The word is plural, and literally means "Gods." There were of course Three of Them: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. This is the first mention in the Bible of the Trinity.
